Boycottage - Fall Out Boy

who: Fall Out Boy
why: they're releasing a Greatest Hits CD?! Are you kidding me!? This just seems ridiculous. I first heard of Fall Out Boy when I was in 7th grade, it's been 10 years since then and they're releasing a Greatest Hits CD? I'm not gonna knock on Fall Out Boy, people like to hate them and say they sold out (because Infinity On High was one of the worst things I've ever heard, I agree) but they deserve the credit they've got and they've worked extremely hard for it but seriously. This is taking it to a whole new level. They've been non stop producing and playing tours, so I understand if they finally need to take a fucking break and settle down for awhile, but they're money whores. It's shameless and depressing.

On a side note, I commend drummer Andy Hurley for continuing his passion for music as he is working on putting out a new record with hardcore band Burning Empires. Check em out.

Here's the track list for the album which is set to drop in November:

1. Dead on Arrival
2. Grand Theft Autumn
3. Saturday
4. Sugar, We're Goin' Down
5. Dance, Dance
6. A Little Less Sixteen Candles, A Little More Touch Me
7. This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race
8. Thnx Fr Th Mmrs
9. The Takeover, The Break's Over
10. I'm Like a Lawyer the Way I'm Always Trying to Get You Off
11. Beat It
12. I Don't Care
13. America's Suitehearts
14. What a Catch, Donnie
15. New Song
16. New Song

Watch Out - The Snake The Cross The Crown

who: The Snake the Cross the Crown
why: because once you watch this short sneak peak at what is about to turn into a full-length documentary premiering at The Lousiville International Festival of Film, you will both immediately love the band and be able to connect with all musicians on a whole different level. Once you stop to take the time to think about how much dedication and sacrifice is put into a record that you might not ever even get the pleasure of listening to... it's really a tremendous realization.

Support the band by checking out their latest album Cotton Teeth.

Premature Infatuation - Zombieland

who: Zombieland
why: because you know it won't be as good as Shaun of the Dead but damnit, you're pumped anyways. Zombieland hits theaters this Friday (tomorrow, October 2nd) so GO!

Don't Call It a Comeback! - Sunny Day Real Estate

who: Sunny Day Real Estate
why: because they're in the midst of their reunion tour and haven't played in 15 years with the original members. And they're awesome. Here they are performing "7" from their 1994 album 'Diary' on the Jimmy Fallon show last night.

Premature Infatuation - We Came as Romans

who: We Came as Romans
why: because they're one of the latest bands to be signed to one of my favorite record companies, Equal Vision, and have announced their first full-length release, 'To Plant a Seed' will be available November 3rd. Go listen!

WE'LL DO IT LIVE! - Paramore

who: Paramore
why: is it just me, or was this really boring?

New Release Tuesday - September 29th

who: weaksauce
why: because nothing can really compare to what's dropping next week (The Fall of Troy and HORSE the band). This week we have Omar Rodriguez Lopez with another release that'll likely end up being many layers of noise that people will claim is a "masterpiece". I personally think he doesn't have to put every single thing he writes down on a record... but maybe that's just me, and maybe I should actually listen to it before I say it sucks. Second we have Paramore. They made the cover of AP magazine this month and the article makes them out to be some sort of legendary revolution of genre fusion... I'm not gonna lie, I liked Riot!... and I liked playing Paramore songs on rock band even more, but I gave a listen to 'Brand New Eyes' and got nothing. I was waiting for it to be over. Wow, I just read this over and realized how harsh I'm being... point of the matter is that if you like Omar or Paramore, today might be a good day - but I'm just waiting for next week.

Boycottage - Twilight: New Moon

who: Twilight.
why: okay, okay, okay. Let me be the first to say that I have not seen the first movie in it's entirety... but I reeeeally don't think I need to. And even if I did, I wouldn't watch it with an open mind, and I'd still end up hating it. So I just don't like it. What bothers me most is that it's becoming a cult phenomenon and shows like TrueBlood as well as other authors are basically starting to get rich off the work someone else has already done (I don't know who he/she is... I don't care). I do know that Kristen Stewart sucks and that English dude is a tool. I also know that the bands who've opted to appear on the soundtrack are taking a risky position. Because while a lot of people like Twilight, a lot of people hate it, too.

bold = why?
italic underline = expected.

Soundtrack:
1) Death Cab for Cutie - "Meet Me On the Equinox"
2) Band of Skulls - "Friends"
3) Thom Yorke (Radiohead) - "Hearing Damage"
4) Lykke LI - "Possibility"
5) The Killers - "A White Demon Love Song"
6) Anya Marina - "Satellite Heart"
7) Muse - I Belong to You (New Moon)
8) Bon Iver & St. Vincent - "Roslyn"
9) Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - "Done All Wrong"
10) Hurricane Bells - "Monsters"
11) Sea Wolf - "The Violet Hour"
12) OK Go - "Shooting the Moon"
13) Grizzly Bear - "Slow Life"
14) Editors - "No Sound but the Wind"
15) Alexandre Desplat - "New Moon (The Meadow)"

Hahaha.
