why: debuted their new video for Twilight: New Moon's "Meet Me on the Equinox" last night on MTV... and I like the song as long as I'm not watching the video... weird.

New Release Tuesday - October 6th
On the most anticipated day for quite some time, it was kind of easy to forget to write it all down on the intranets.

why: because these two have been on my radar since the end of last year, and they're finally out! The Fall of Troy's 'In the Unlikely Event' is completely different from what you should probably expect, especially considering it's following last year's revolutionary (at least for me) 'The Phantom on the Horizon'.
HORSE is like a loyal puppy that could never disappoint you. The more ridiculous the more undeniably entertaining. 'Desperate Living' is out today.
You absolutely must listen to both of these.

Fool for Thought - lala.com
who: lala.com
why: because we should have seen it sooner... Every day we're finding new ways to keep the internet and anything else we can as close as possible. Think of the future... True "nano" ipods, and cell phones that fit into your ear and allow you simply to think about turning them on right?..
why: because we should have seen it sooner... Every day we're finding new ways to keep the internet and anything else we can as close as possible. Think of the future... True "nano" ipods, and cell phones that fit into your ear and allow you simply to think about turning them on right?..
Nah. I'll take a cell phone that can give me internet access to any song I've ever wanted, though. CDs and Vinyls are cool to have, but eventually I'm gonna run out of room. And recently, my hard drive got screwed up and I lost most of what I really cared about owning... the mp3s from the albums so I could actually listen to them.
So look. Here it is. Lala.com allows you to buy an "Online Album" of The Fall of Troy's newest album 'In the Unlikely Event' for only $1.08, OR the mp3 version for $7.49. $1 sounds good, so you buy the online version, but shit that means you have to be on the internet to listen to it? Yeah... but what if you could somehow get really good internet on your phone that would load lala for you no problem?... Yeah it's probably gonna happen.
Lawyered?
New Thread - "..."
who: Jon Gosselin
why: poor dude got annihilated in this argument with a genius.
who: Danny DeVito
why: got simply torn by Robbin Shabotski.
Premature Infatuation - Vampire Weekend
who: Vampire Weekend

why: because I've somehow managed to ignore Vampire Weekend until now, when I have a song about horchata stuck in my head... Their new release 'Contra' will be released January 12th of next year.

Watch Out - Community
who: NBC's new show 'Community'
why: because I like this show and you should watch it. If you don't watch it, you probably won't understand why this is funny.
"Yeah boi. Boi... what?!... It's 2009."
Premature Infatuation - Andrew W.K.
who: Andrew W.K.
why: because he released '55 Cadillac on September 8th and it's apparently filled with classical style piano as opposed to his usual songs about partying and partying harder. I've heard he's actually a pretty talented musician but it's hard to take him seriously... I just have no idea what it's going to sound like and I'm pumped regardless of if it's good or the worst thing I ever heard. It's nice to know there's no way I'm going to be disappointed. You can check out a preview of it on his myspace page, or get the album on iTunes or here.

Boycottage - Fall Out Boy
who: Fall Out Boy
why: they're releasing a Greatest Hits CD?! Are you kidding me!? This just seems ridiculous. I first heard of Fall Out Boy when I was in 7th grade, it's been 10 years since then and they're releasing a Greatest Hits CD? I'm not gonna knock on Fall Out Boy, people like to hate them and say they sold out (because Infinity On High was one of the worst things I've ever heard, I agree) but they deserve the credit they've got and they've worked extremely hard for it but seriously. This is taking it to a whole new level. They've been non stop producing and playing tours, so I understand if they finally need to take a fucking break and settle down for awhile, but they're money whores. It's shameless and depressing.
On a side note, I commend drummer Andy Hurley for continuing his passion for music as he is working on putting out a new record with hardcore band Burning Empires. Check em out.
Here's the track list for the album which is set to drop in November:
1. Dead on Arrival
2. Grand Theft Autumn
3. Saturday
4. Sugar, We're Goin' Down
5. Dance, Dance
6. A Little Less Sixteen Candles, A Little More Touch Me
7. This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race
8. Thnx Fr Th Mmrs
9. The Takeover, The Break's Over
10. I'm Like a Lawyer the Way I'm Always Trying to Get You Off
11. Beat It
12. I Don't Care
13. America's Suitehearts
14. What a Catch, Donnie
15. New Song
16. New Song

Watch Out - The Snake The Cross The Crown
who: The Snake the Cross the Crown
why: because once you watch this short sneak peak at what is about to turn into a full-length documentary premiering at The Lousiville International Festival of Film, you will both immediately love the band and be able to connect with all musicians on a whole different level. Once you stop to take the time to think about how much dedication and sacrifice is put into a record that you might not ever even get the pleasure of listening to... it's really a tremendous realization.
Support the band by checking out their latest album Cotton Teeth.
Premature Infatuation - Zombieland
who: Zombieland
why: because you know it won't be as good as Shaun of the Dead but damnit, you're pumped anyways. Zombieland hits theaters this Friday (tomorrow, October 2nd) so GO!
