why: Total Request Live. You remember. It started in 1997... which puts me in... 3rd grade. After school, everyone watched this terrible hour of tv showcasing what we thought were the greatest songs around at the time. Wow, we were stupid. But it was fun! Around that time we had just been blessed with dial-up, lightning fast 56k internet and countless hours of AOL from those free discs we all stole from Walmart. We'd sign on the internet with our "basketballkid247" and "barbiedoll777" screennames and we would actually talk about how we couldn't believe Korn lost the number one spot to the fucking Backstreet Boys... lol.
But bands still make music videos! And nobody cares! MTV somehow is still "Music Television" despite the fact the only music they play comes through the videos they've slotted for 3am - 9am... conveiniently the exact same 6 hours I typically choose to sleep. What I'm trying to say is that I think I want my primetime videos back! The only problem is that they'd probably still choose to use that time playing awful music that I definitely should not be caring about... But c'mon let's be real here, we all know MTV has plenty of time to schedule music from all genres of music... we don't need to be watching 7 hours of "16 and Pregnant"... Maury is on everyday at 1pm.
Would you watch music videos again?
